I've never been so mortified yet grateful in my entire life. There I was, stuck in my Brighton seafront hotel car park – literally one millimetre away from destroying my poor little car against this massive concrete column I’d got myself wedged by. I'd come from London to stay the night before my driving test in Burgess Hill, and I couldn't even manage to park properly! In my desperation, I frantically called recovery services in the area. No response. No response. No response. It was a Sunday evening, after all. Just when I was about to give up hope completely, Gino picked up the phone! In that moment, hearing a human voice felt like winning the lottery. I was half-laughing, half-panicking at the sheer ridiculousness of what I was explaining. Not only did he effortlessly maneuver my car out of that death trap of a parking spot (I still don’t know how I did it…), but he suggested driving my car completely out of the car park to find a much less precarious spot where I wouldn't have any issues in the morning.
