Privacy policy

Car Recovery Compare (carrecoverycompare.co.uk) connects drivers with car recovery & towing companies and scrap car collection services across the UK, so that people who have broken down or need a vehicle collected can compare options quickly. This notice explains our approach to personal data; for any privacy matter, the site can be reached at [email protected].

Listings sourced from Google Maps The recovery, towing and scrap car collection businesses shown on the site, together with their customer reviews, are taken from publicly available Google Maps listings, which we review and refresh periodically. Businesses can request a correction to their details, or ask to be removed entirely, by emailing us, and we act on such requests promptly.

Automatic technical data Using the site doesn't require you to hand over any personal details, and there's no account or sign-up involved. Your browser will, however, automatically send our servers routine technical information with every request - including your IP address, browser type and the pages viewed - which is kept in server logs and used only to operate and secure the site.

Cookies and advertising This site may use cookies to analyse traffic and to display advertising. Advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies to show interest-based ads drawn from your browsing history across sites. You can manage or switch off these preferences at myadcenter.google.com, and your browser also allows you to control or remove cookies.

Your data protection rights Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights to access, rectify and erase personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing; these can be exercised by emailing us at the address above. If you're unhappy with how a request was handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Links to other sites The site links to the websites of listed recovery and towing operators and to Google Maps. We have no control over, and no responsibility for, the privacy practices on those external sites once you have clicked through, so it's worth reading their own policies before sharing any details with them.
